Fat Burning Jog The fat burning jog will increase gamer endurance and help with weight loss. The aim is not to jog until you drop; it is to increase your heart rate to an optimal fat burning rate for at least 30 minutes.

There are numerous ways to calculate this rate and the following is just one of them. Start jogging (or even walking), plan a routine and then settle into a rate that is comfortable for you.

Jogging Equipment

  • Heart Rate Monitor
    You will need a heart rate monitor to keep track of your heart rate. A basic setup watch and chest strap product will work fine. These can be found in most sports stores.

    Don't have a heart rate monitor, then start jogging just faster than if you were fast walking.


  • Jogging Shoes
    Ensure you have good jogging shoes with the proper cushioning for your feet.

Heart Rate

Fat Burning Jog

The heart rate range you will want to stay within while jogging depends on your age and level of fitness (Vitality Challenge):

  • Casual Challenge
    (Unfit or new to jogging)

    Heart rate range: (170 minus your Age) to (180 minus your Age)


  • Active Challenge
    (Generally fit)

    Heart rate range: (175 minus your Age) to (185 minus your Age)


  • Hardcore Challenge
    (Exercise regularly)

    Heart rate range: (180 minus your Age) to (190 minus your Age)


Example Heart Rate Range

As an example, lets consider someone who is 35 years old and is doing the Casual Challenge:

  • Bottom of the Range: 170 - 35 = 135
  • Top of the Range: 180 - 35 = 145

So, this person would jog with their heart rate between 135 to 145.



Overview

  • Have the right equipment

  • Jog for 30 to 40 Minutes (Have 5 - 10 minute cooldown)
  • Jog at least 3 days a week

Note

  • After 5 minutes you may want to stop, be persistent as your energy levels will increase.
